Adressed to those following the monotheistic religions- Do you REALLY believe God is what He is portrayed as?
I've been raised in a monotheistic religion but from the time I was 7 I lost all faith in God (I stayed in the religion though because it was my community, my heritage, and a great topic starter. I still practice). I guess I could say I'm agnostic in the belief that there is some supreme power beyond our comprehension out there. Yet the ever-recurring subject of God being a man-like deity that is structured perfectly and believes everybody should follow him unfalteringly is really starting to make me wonder. To everybody who is loyal to their religion, I mean no offense but I'm starting to seriously doubt the belief is such a... supreme being. In your Bible, Torah, Qur'an, how many of you HONESTLY believe that a God with such high-standards, such violent ways, such merciless acts, such bizarre twists really exists? How many of you have changed God to be what YOU think he/she is? Any thoughts, comments?
